“Between The Wars” captures an era in music that was both intimate and romantic, vivacious and fun, yet compelling at the same time. We can only hope that singers like Bobbi Carrey continue to come forward to do justice to these marvelous songs, with new arrangements to touch the hearts of future generations, and to bring renewed joy to the older generations who still remember the likes of Al Jolson, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin.
I enjoyed this CD compilation very much; the performances of these standard songs were sparkling and sultry and thoroughly enjoyable. They made me nostalgic for a special time in our musical history that the world will never see again. Get this CD and step back in time…and remember a world that is ‘gone with the wind.’
